Women's Tennis Honors Kaitlyn Rivera on Bearcat Appreciation Day

The women's tennis team narrowly lost 5-4 to the Cougars of Kean University in a match on Thursday night at the Binghamton Racquet Club in Edgewater, New Jersey.

The Bearcats lost two of three doubles and split the six singles to suffer the tough one-point loss.

Hailey Feuer finished her regular season with an undefeated 12-0 record in first singles by winning, 6-0, 6-1. She dropped only four games all regular season.

Lejla Redzematovic (#2, 7-6 <7-3>) and Natalie Ibelhaupt (#3, 7-6 <11-9>, 6-2) each recorded hard-fought singles wins.

Feuer and Redzematovic also won at first doubles, 8-0.

Prior to the match, the team honored Kaitlyn Rivera for her service to the women's tennis program the past two years. Rivera played in her final regular season home match.

The Bearcats will next turn their focus to the CUNYAC Championship Semifinals on Tuesday, October 22. They will play the winner of the playoff between John Jay and York.
