Women's Volleyball Loses Heart-Breaker in Five Sets to Hunter

The women's volleyball team and the Hawks of Hunter College played an exciting five-set match on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The two teams each had their big moments in the rivalry match, but the visiting Hawks pulled out the win in the tie-breaker (15-8).

The Bearcats started slow, falling behind 8-2 in the opening set, but they recovered and won 25-21 to set the tone early.

The Hawks won the next two sets and appeared to be in control at one point, but the Bearcats responded by starting the fourth set winning, 12-3, en route to taking the set 25-15.

The Hawks hit .417 to win the tie-breaker and victory in five sets.

Anita Sengara had another big match with 18 kills and 22 digs, while Stella Chung also posted big stats with 13 kills.

Sanaa Hadjeb dished out a career-high 42 assists with 11 digs. Wai Chang was outstanding in the back with 22 digs.

The visiting Hawks had three players in double-figure kills with Mariam Ouattara leading with 15.
