Game Recap: Men's Volleyball |

Bearcats Win for Seventh Time in Eight Contests, Sweep NJCU

The men's volleyball team swept the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University in a rescheduled match on Tuesday night in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats pounded out 38 kills, hitting .217, to record a 25-19, 25-22, 27-25 win to also improve to 13-9 overall.

The Bearcats started the first set hitting .417 to establish the tone early.

They needed extra work to win the third set, 27-25. In that third, the two teams were tied at 25, but a bad set and an Artem Zinkin kill helped clinch the sweep.

Steven Lopez led the winning effort in New Jersey with 14 kills (.320). Edward Grinberg was busy again dishing out 31 assists.

Julian Moreira was tops for the hosts with 13 kills, hitting .565. 

The Bearcats will resume action on Thursday night with a 7:00 p.m. match at St. Joseph's College of Long Island in Patchogue.
