Softball Splits DH with Yeshiva, Honor Gabrielle Huezo on Bearcat Appreciation Day

The softball team won one and lost one to Yeshiva University on Monday evening at the Fordham University softball complex in the Bronx.

The visiting Bearcats scored the first seven runs with three in the first, three in the third, and one in the fifth for a 7-0 lead.

Yeshiva scored their only run in the bottom of the fifth, but the Bearcats added one two more in the sixth to wrap up the 9-1 win in six innings.

Victoria Kisling took control from the mound by scattering six hits and nine strikeouts for the win.

Gabrielle Huezo and Danielle Petrunti had three hits each.

In the second high-scoring game, it was tied 5-5 after three innings, but Yeshiva blew the contest wide open by scoring seven runs over the next three innings to salvage a split.

Chana Boltax led the opponent at the plate batting 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Daniela Lopez had a big game batting 3-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Kaitlyn Rivera scored two runs.

Prior to the first game, the team honored Gabrielle Huezo on Bearcat Appreciation Day for her service to the team in her three outstanding seasons.
