Bearcats Fall to Lehman in CUNYAC DH

The softball team lost a conference doubleheader to the Lightning of Lehman College on a sunny Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

The Lightning won the first game 6-1 by scoring two runs in each of the first, third, and fifth innings, but the visiting Bearcats did not go away quietly in their final at-bat.

Jooyoung Park smacked an RBI single that plated Danielle Petrunti for a run in the seventh inning.

Park finished batting 2-for-3, while Gabrielle Huezo was a perfect 3-for-3.

In the second game, the Lightning jumped out to a 5-0 lead, but the Bearcats battled back.

Huezo hit an RBI single in the third inning to score Darine Mata, while Victoria Kisling had an RBI double and she would later come around to score on a fielding error.

Lehman won the second game, 8-3.

Huezo finished the doubleheader batting an impressive 6-for-7, while Kisling finished the afternoon on the mound with 22 strikeouts.
