CUNYAC QF: Men's Volleyball Sweeps Brooklyn (10,16,12); Play CCNY in Friday Semifinal

The Baruch College Bearcats swept the visiting Bulldogs of Brooklyn College (25-10, 25-16, 25-12) to advance to Friday's Championship rounds at Hunter College.

The Bearcats will next play CCNY in a 6:00 p.m. semifinal, while Hunter will host Medgar Evers at 4:00 p.m. The two winners will advance to the championship at 8:00 p.m. to play for the title and automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.

This evening, the Bearcats took control early pounding out 36 kills for a .277 hitting percentage, while the Bulldogs only notched 18 kills hitting negative -.011. 

Senior Nicholas Godino stuffed the stats sheet with 13 kills, 10 digs, four blocks, and two aces in his final match playing in the ARC Arena.

Stallone Shankar dished out 22 assists and Meni Musheyev had another big effort in front of the net with seven blocks.

Sayuj Zachariah led Brooklyn with 15 assists, as they finish their season with a 10-12 record.

"It was a good effort by our team and we are taking it one match at a time," said Baruch Head Coach Kevin Edwards. "Now it is time to focus on CCNY for another big match in the semifinals."
