Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Down at Halftime, Bearcats Power to Win with Big Second Half

The men's basketball team out-scored the visiting Dolphins from the College of Staten Island, 49-29, in the second half to break open a close contest en route to winning, 74-55, at home on Wednesday night.

The two teams, playing for the first time since last February's exciting championship game, were tied at 31 with 17 minutes left, but things changed quickly as the Bearcats went on a game-busting 17-4 run to lead 48-35 with under 10 minutes left.

The Dolphins couldn't recover as the Bearcats cruised the rest of the way for their fourth win in five home games this season.

Adnan Bajrami led the team with 21 points and four steals, while George Smyth,Jr. and Michael Richards scored 10 each.

Eleven different players scored in the win.

Staten Island is currently re-classifying its athletic program to NCAA Division II status and tonight's game only counted for the overall season record and not CUNYAC.

Adeola Latunji was tops for the visitors in the box score with 20 points.
