Bearcats Fall to #3 New Paltz

The men's volleyball team lost a hard-fought match in three (22-25, 19-25, 22-25) to the defending National Champions and current No. 3-ranked Hawks of SUNY New Paltz on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats started strong and led 21-19 during the first set, but the Hawks won six of the next seven points to win, 25-22.

The visiting Hawks jumped ahead and took a 20-11 lead in the second set, but the Bearcats battled back to get as close as 23-19. The Hawks then tallied the last two points to jump ahead two sets to none.

The third set was a competitive throughout and the Bearcats had their chances, getting as close as 22-21, but again the Hawks pulled out the narrow 25-22 win
 
New Paltz finished with 37 kills compared to 24 by the Bearcats.
