Swimming & Cross Country's Leslibeth Romero Wins SAAC Leadership Award

Leslibeth Romero is the recipient of the Baruch College Athletics 2019-20 SAAC Leadership Award.

Romero, who majors in Operations Management, has been a very busy two-sport athlete during her competitive career competing on the swimming and cross country teams.

In addition to balancing academics and athletics, Leslibeth has played a major role with SAAC as President of the student-run group during 2019-20.

With SAAC, she has been very involved with team and charity activities. along with leading SAAC through various initiatives that serve to represent SAAC on campus and in the local community. 

As a four-year member of swimming, the native of the Dominican Republic helped her team win consecutive CUNYAC Championships during the 2018 and 2019 Finals.

She competed for three years on the cross country team (2016-18) and was twice named a CUNYAC All-Star for finishing in the Top 15 at the arduous 6K CUNYAC Finals at Van Cortlandt Park.

Romero has embodied what it means to be a student-athlete by finding time throughout her career to compete in two sports and lead SAAC.
