Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Wins Battle of CUNYAC Undefeated, Beat Lehman (4-2)

The men's soccer team recorded their best win of the regular season with a 4-2 CUNYAC victory at Lehman College on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

The match between the two CUNYAC undefeated teams saw the visiting Bearcats overcome an early 2-1 deficit to score the final three goals for the pivotal conference win.

Lehman on their Homecoming Day had a goal called off early, but they still struck first through Ebenezer Otoo goal for a 1-0 lead at 9:11.

The Bearcats leveled through an unassisted goal by Zyde Nawabi four minutes later.

Phillip Osei gave Lehman the lead again at 23:25 with an unassisted goal.

The scoreboard stayed quiet until the Bearcats exploded for three second-half goals, the first on an absolute GOLAZO by Jonah Corney from outside the box into the upper right corner.

Daniel Grishin scored on penalty kick at 63:45 for the first Bearcat lead during a cool and crisp afternoon at the picturesque Lehman campus.

The Bearcats then put the match out of reach at 73:22 with Arman Celebi scoring for the 4-2 score on an assist by Julio Ramirez.

The host Lighting had a 14-10 shot advantage, but the Bearcats scored four goals on their 10 shots for the win that keeps them undefeated in CUNYAC at 5-0.

The team will resume action with a CUNYAC home match on Wednesday afternoon against York College. Kick off at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, New York is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
