The women's basketball team lost 67-47 to the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College of Patchogue on Saturday afternoon.

The home team from the Skyline Conference jumped out to 16-8 lead after the first period and later scored the first eight points of the third to record the non-conference home win on Long lsland.

The visiting Bearcats battled all afternoon, including playing tough in the second (14-14) and fourth (18-16) periods, but could not break through with enough runs to get back into it.

Mia Castillo led the Bearcats with 20 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks, while rookie D'Andre McRae recorded double-figure rebounds for the fifth time this season finishing with 10.

Precious Mitchell came off the bench to score four points and grab seven rebounds.

Alyssa Adomaites was tops for the Golden Eagles with 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
