Bearcats Finish Runner Up at 2022 CUNYAC Soccer Championship

The men's soccer team lost a heart-breaker 3-1 to the Lightning of Lehman College in the CUNYAC Championship played on Saturday afternoon at neutral-site Queens College in Flushing, New York.

The Bearcats and Lehman were playing for the second straight year in the championship match and this year Lehman came out on top (Bearcats won last year).

Lehman took the lead early in the 4th minute (Phillip Osei) and made it 2-0 in the 39th minute (Alexander Agyemang) to lead at halfftime.

The Bearcats made it interesting late with Frank Shkreli scoring on an assist from Kosi Mbadiwe to cut the score to 2-1 and bring hope back into the match, but Lehman quickly answered with a goal (Ebenzer Otoo) a minute later to put the championship out of reach.

Lehman out-shot the Bearcats 19-7 and played a man up starting in the 49th minute.

The Bearcats finish their 2022 season with a 10-6 record.
