Women's Basketball Defeats Old Westbury Before Final Exam/Holiday Break

The women's basketball team controlled the game and forced 30 turnovers to defeat the Panthers of SUNY Old Westbury, 70-53, on Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats scored at least 70 points for the third straight game and took 18 more shots tonight to record their second straight win to head into the Final Exam/Holiday Break on a winning note.

D'Andre McRae, who for the first time on Monday was voted the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, recorded her third double-double of the season with a career-high 21 points and 15 rebounds to go along with a career-high four assists.

Mia Castillo filled the stats sheet again with 15 points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals. She has recorded at least eight assists in her last three games and five total this season.

Elissa Leung added 13 points and Paige Traynor seven in the home win.

Ja'yna Flash had a double-double for the visitors from Long Island with 22 points and nine rebounds.
