Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Men's Tennis Defeats U.S.M.M.A. on Bearcat Appreciation Day

The men's tennis team defeated the Mariners from the United States Merchant Marine Academy 9-0 in a non-conference match played on Sunday afternoon at the Billie Jean USTA National Tennis Center in Queens.

Prior to the match, the Bearcats honored Abhinav Srivastava and Hudson Kaylie for playing in their final regular season home match.

The team also took a moment before the match to celebrate winning the CUNYAC Regular Season Title finishing in first place. They will be the number 1 seed when the CUNYAC Championship Tournament begins next Sunday, May 1.

The Bearcats won all three doubles and six singles for their eighth win of the season against only three losses. They also stretch their winning streak to five in a row.

Srivastava and Kaylie both had solid Bearcat Appreciation Day Performances. Srivastava combined with Christopher Tham to win at first doubles, 8-2, and then he won in second singles, 6-1, 6-3.

Kaylie won his sixth singles encounter 6-3, 6-0.
