Men's Volleyball Defeats CCNY, Will Play Hunter in Final

The men's volleyball team recorded a 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 sweep of the Beavers of CCNY in a CUNYAC semifinal match played on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats will advance to play Hunter College in Friday's Final scheduled for 6:30 pm. The winner not only wins the title but also an automatic berth to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament next weekend.

HIGHLIGHTS

* Rookie Haoxin Hu led the attack this evening with 12 kills hitting .320. Akil Vaughn was next best with eight kills hitting 571.

* Stallone Shankar dished out 30 assists and Defeng Han had five aces and 11 digs in the important home playoff win.

* Jack Centeno, Michael Higgins, and Han finished with six kills each.

* The Bearcats totaled 39 kills hitting .223, compared to 29 kills by the visiting Beavers hitting .149.
