Bearcats Sweep Lehman, Win Streak Reaches Five

The baseball team swept Lehman 12-1 and 8-5 in a CUNYAC doubleheader played on Saturday afternoon at Flowers Park in New Rochelle, New York.

The Bearcats took total control in the first game and rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the second for the successful afternoon.

The Bearcats are now 4-0 in the CUNYAC standings and stretch their win streak to five in a row.

HIGHLIGHTS

Game 1

* Matthew Lawlor is now 2-0 against CUNYAC opponents this season after another solid outing on the mound. He pitched a complete game with a line of 6 hits, one earned run, six strikeouts and only one walk allowed in seven innings.

* The offense was alive again today as the Bearcats scored in all but one inning.

* Steven Patterson (2-for-4, triple, 2 RBI, 1 run) and Michael Paray (2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 Run) had two hits each.

* Thomas Drouin, Robert Wakely, and Joseph Cocozza each had a stolen base.

* Nicholas Umile's RBI single in the second inning to plate Brian Hwang stood as the winning run.

Game 2

* Nathaniel Demchak is also 2-0 against CUNYAC opposition following his complete game 3-hitter with seven strikeouts.

* Thomas Drouin had the big bat going 2-for-3, which included a lead-off inside the park homer in the third inning and a two-run triple in the sixth. He finished with three runs and three RBI. The triple stood as the inning hit.

* Patterson scored twice in the second game win.
