Women's Tennis Season Ends in Tough NCAA Match Vesus Skidmore

The women's tennis team lost a tough 5-0 NCAA first round match to the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College on Friday morning in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The Thoroughbreds recorded 8-0 wins in each in each of the three doubles and won two singles for the 5-0 team victory. Per postseason rules, the match was halted upon the first team to five points.

The Bearcats were making their third all-time appearance in the NCAA.

They finish an outstanding 2021-22 season with a 12-4 record, the CUNYAC Championship, and playing in the NCAA Tournament.

Ava Deguzman finished her standout rookie season undefeated at 15-0 in first singles.

Lauren Kraker ended her brilliant intercollegiate career eighth all-time in team history with 24 singles wins.

Head Coach Gregory Wyzykowski finished 2021-22 being named CUNYAC Coach of the Year in both the men and women, as well as leading both teams to the NCAA Tournament.
