Baseball Wins Wild Game 1 of CUNYAC Championship Series, Rally for 14-13 Win

FULL GAME BROADCAST

In what will go down as one of the more memorable games in CUNYAC baseball history, the Bearcats won 14-13 in the first game of the best of 3 championship series against CCNY at Maimonides Park on Coney Island.

The last three innings featured 20 total runs, but the Bearcats rallied in the end for the win.

CCNY led 7-3 heading into the bottom of the eighth but the Bearcats - all without a hit and no errors - received seven walks, four wild pitches, and two hit by pitches to stun CCNY to take the lead 10-7.

CCNY took back the lead in the ninth inning with six runs on two hits to jump ahead 13-10.

That forced the Bearcats to play catch up again and they did with four runs on two hits, two walks and two hit by pitches for the walk-off walk for the win Steven Patterson.

Three different players Thomas Drouin, Brian Hwang, and Patterson had two hits each.

The game took close to four hours to play in light rain on Coney Island.

The Bearcats and CCNY will play game 2 and if needed game 3 on Sunday in a time to be announced at Maimonides Park on Coney Island.
