Men's Soccer Blanks Pratt in Home Opener

The men's soccer team scored two goals in each half en route to a 4-0 shutout of the Pratt Institute on a very warm and sunny Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island Field 10.

The Bearcats won their home opener with 19 total shots compared to four by the visiting Cannonneers.

Jemali Zarnadze started the scoring after a tough 40 minutes with a goal off a rebound in the 41st minute.

Daniel Fomenko made it 2-0 just two minutes later on a through ball assist by Spencer Garnets.

Wessam Farag (60:00) and Arman Celebi (Luis Madriz assist, 80:51) each tallied in the second half to put the match out of reach.

Kellen Sela (four saves) and Jon Legasa combined for the goalkeeper shutout.

The Bearcats will next hop on the road to Long Island on Wednesday for 6:00 p.m. non-conference match at Farmingdale State.
