Women's Tennis Defeats Sarah Lawrence at U.S. National Tennis Center

The women's tennis team recorded a 9-0 shutout of Sarah Lawrence College on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the USTA Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.

The Bearcats in their home opener powered their way to victory winning all six singles and three doubles for their second win of the early season schedule.

Stephanie Tapia and Alejandra Cardenas were victorious at third doubles, 8-2.

Ava Deguzman (#1, 6-1, 6-1), Esther Benjamin (#2, 6-1, 6-3), Regina Kelley (#3, 6-0, 3-0, retired), and Erica Sheludenko (#4, 6-0, 6-1) each won their singles.

The Bearcats will begin the CUNYAC portion of their schedule next Thursday with a home match against Brooklyn College. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Queens College indoor tennis courts.
