Women's Tennis Cruises Past Brooklyn (9-0)

The women's tennis team posted a 9-0 shutout of the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College on Thursday afternoon at the Queens College indoor tennis courts in Flushing, New York.

The Bearcats won all three doubles and six singles for their CUNYAC opening-match victory.

Ava Deguzman (#1, 6-0, 6-0), Esther Benjamin (#2, 6-1, 6-0) and Regina Kelley (#3, 6-0, 6-0) each recorded convincing wins to also improve their singles records to 4-0 this season.

Erica Sheludenko teamed up with Kelley to win at second doubles, 8-0.

Keila Pagan and Alejandra Cardenas won at third doubles, 8-4.

The Bearcats will return to action next Tuesday against SUNY Purchase with first serve scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the U.S. National Tennis Center.
