Men's Soccer Starts CUNYAC Schedule Defeating Medgar Evers 4-1

The men's soccer team notched a 4-1 win against the Cougars of Medgar Evers College in a CUNYAC contest played on Wednesday afternoon at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn.

The visiting Bearcats received goals from four different players in the victory that was also their second straight by the score of 4-1 (defeated Saint Elizabeth 4-1 on Saturday). 

Armen Celebi (goal #2) opened the scoring after six minutes on an assist by Jaedon Seneca.

Jemali Zarnadze (goal #4), who scored two goals on Saturday, scored another today right before the halftime whistle that was assisted by Frank Shkreli.

The Bearcats kept the momentum going in the second half in the 57th minute as Uthman Aboulwafa (goal #1) scored off double assists from Spencer Garnets and Kosi Mbadiwe.  

The Cougars cut the score to 3-1 in the 67th minute on a goal by Kazandu Small, but the Bearcats just three minutes later scored their fourth thanks to Zyde Nawabi (Goal #2) on an assist by Wessam Farag.

The Bearcats out-shot the Cougars 24-12.

GK Jon Legasa earned the shutout in his debut as a starter with six saves.
