Bearcats Return to Winning ways

The men's basketball team recorded a 62-46 victory at Brooklyn College on Wednesday night.

The win is the Bearcats' eighth in their past nine games as they improve to 11-4 overall and 4-1 in the CUNYAC.

The visiting Bearcats found themselves in a low-scoring battle tied at the half (23-23), but exploded in the second half shooting 53 percent (16-33) to outscore the Bulldogs 39-23 for the road victory. They also used solid defense limiting the Bulldogs to just 23 percent (7-30) shooting in the final 20 minutes.

The bench was a factor again scoring 36 total points compared to just four by the Bulldogs

Brooklyn tried to use the three to stay with the Bearcats, but also struggled shooting 9-of-37 from beyond the arc.

Devin Nicholson led the Bearcats with 18 points, while Michael Gannon had 14 and Mohamed Gueye 13.

Jehmehl Fair dished out a career-high five assists and Akil Vaughn grabbed his Baruch career-high eight rebounds in the victory.

David McFadden was tops for the Bulldogs with 14 points in the home loss.
