Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Improves to 7-5 in CUNYAC, Defeat Medgar Evers

The women's basketball team led from start to finish and every player saw action as the Bearcats recorded an 84-44 win at Medgar Evers College on Wednesday night.

The visiting Bearcats put the game out of reach out-scoring the Cougars 30-6 in the second period by shooting 58 percent (14-for-24) en route to a 49-18 halftime lead.  

Elissa Leung poured in a career-high 30 points shooting 14-of-22 while grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists in 30 minutes.

Mia Castillo had her ninth double-double of the season scoring 16 points and dishing out 12 assists to go along with five steals.

Paige Traynor (15 points) and D'Andre McRae (12 points) also recorded double-figures to help lead the Bearcats to their third win in four games.

Precious Mitchell came off the bench to grab a career-high 12 rebounds.  

The Bearcats will finish their regular season schedule with home games on Friday against Lehman and next Tuesday against John Jay as schools battle for position to host a CUNYAC post-season playoff home game (latest standings).
