Softball Wins CUNYAC Opening DH Against York

The softball team played the first of four doubleheaders this week by defeating the Cardinals of York College twice in a CUNYAC doubleheader on Monday afternoon at Padavan Prellers Field in Queens.

The visiting Bearcats started strong winning 19-0 behind the one-hit pitching performance of rookie Damaris Adames.

At the plate, every player in the line up scored at least one run with Milagros Arias recording four RBI batting 1-for-2 with a triple and two walks.
   
In the second game, the Bearcats won 23-3 totaling 16 hits for the doubleheader sweep.

Julia Cuttone earned the pitching win with 10 strikeouts, while batting 3-for-3 with four RBI, three runs scored, and two triples.

Arias (3 RBI), Megan Bell (4 runs), Bridget Campanelli (3 runs), and Meenakshi Mugrai (3 runs) all contributed to the victory.
