Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Finishes Third in CUNYAC, Will Host Quarterfinal on October 30

The men's soccer team lost a tough CUNYAC regular season finale 2-1 to Lehman College on Wednesday evening at Lehman's South Field.

The two teams have played in the last two CUNYAC Championships and tonight their encounter was just as intense as those two past post-season matches. 

Lehman out-shot the visiting Bearcats 16-5 and forced goalkeeper Jon Legasa to make seven saves.

The Lightning scored early first on a goal by Alexander Agyemang off a double assist 16 minutes into the match.

The Bearcats later tied the match through Mitchel Frenkel's first career goal in the 71st minute that was unassisted.

The two teams battled for the go ahead goal and Lehman scored eight minutes later through Adam Kowalski for the result that finished 2-1.

Five different Bearcats attempted one shot in the tough loss.           

The Bearcats are confirmed to finish third in the regular season standings and will host a CUNYAC playoff quarterfinal against the sixth seed next Wednesday, October 30, at Columbia University.

The CUNYAC will confirm and announce the full playoff match ups shortly.
