Men's Basketball Start CUNYAC Schedule With Win at Rival Hunter

The men's basketball team led from start to finish and built up a 50-20 halftime lead en route to a 101-69 CUNYAC win at Hunter College on Friday night.

Gerard Nicholson powered the visiting Bearcats with 20 first-half points (7-13 fg) and Dylan Minnick grabbed 10 rebounds in that first half as the Bearcats controlled the momentum.

They kept their foot on the pedal in the second half and led by as much as 42 points (84-42) to start the CUNYAC portion of their schedule on a winning note.

They finished the game hitting 11 total three-pointers and easily won the battle of the boards with a 56-31 advantage.

Nicholson finished with a career-high 28 points (5-9 3fg) and Minnick had a double-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and three steals. 

Jack Gordon poured in 16 points, Trevon Coppin had a career-high 12 points, and Nicholas Lam scored 10 on a night where the team totaled 28 assists.

Hunter struggled connecting on only six field goals in the first half and finished shooting 37 percent in the home loss.  

Jack Meyers and Sal Suputo led the Hawks with 15 points each.
