Story Links

The men's soccer team recorded their first positive result of the season rallying from a 3-0 deficit to draw 3-3 against St. Joseph's University of Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon at the Aviator Sports Complex in Brooklyn, New York.

The visiting Bearcats were losing 3-0 after 67 minutes, but turned the momentum in their favor starting with 2023 CUNYAC MVP Arman Celebi scoring on a PK.

Three minutes later in the 70th minute rookie Alan Nikaj scored the second goal on an assist by Ardin Cobovic and the comeback attempt was in full force.

Celebi leveled the match with another PK goal in the 77th minute for the 3-3 score to the delight of the Baruch bench and supporters.

The two teams attacked in the final minutes seeking the winner, but the result ended 3-3 to give the Bearcats their first point in the early season schedule.

St. Joseph's from the Skyline Conference took more shots (11-9) this afternoon, but could not overcome the Bearcats late rally.

Three different players scored for St. Joseph's in their home draw.

Baruch GK Jon Legasa and St. Joseph's GK Alex Castro finished with three saves each.
