MVB Takes Home Win Against York (25-18,25-19,25-19)

The Bearcats took on the York College Cardinals for a Sunday afternoon home CUNYAC match in the ARC Arena.

The squad won in three sets (25-18, 25-19, 25-19) to increase their record to 4-0 in the CUNYAC.

The first set started as a back-and-forth affair, with the score as close as 15-13. The Bearcats pulled away after three consecutive kills by Peter Gavroff, Aaron Clarke, and Ryan Oommen.

In the second set, the squad had an eight-point lead (21-13). They reached set point after a service error by York and won after a kill by David Tang.

The third set saw a momentum change for York as they trailed by only three late in the set (19-16). However, two kills by Gavroff assisted by Jacob Chen and Valentin Rodriguez, respectively, gave the Bearcats their largest lead of the set (22-16).

A kill by Charlie Nguyen, assisted by Zachary Yao, gave the team the third set and match win, 3-0.
