Baseball Falls to FDU Florham

The baseball team lost a 10-5 non-conference contest to FDU Florham on Tuesday afternoon in Madison, New Jersey. 

FDU jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings, but the Bearcats came back, scoring four runs to get as close as 5-4. 

The bats came alive in the third inning on an RBI double by Nicholas Benedetto and an RBI ground out by Roy Longarzo. They added two more runs in the fourth inning on an RBI single by Michael Rossi and a sacrifice fly RBI by Joseph Bello.

FDU scored the next five runs to take control of the contest.

The Bearcats added their last run in the top of the eighth inning on a Matthew Rappa RBI double to right field.

Joseph Cocozza and Rappa (two doubles) finished with two hits each.

Peter Longo led FDU at the plate, batting 3-for-4, with two RBI.
