The men's volleyball team faced off against the Bloodhounds of John Jay College in the ARC Arena on Thursday evening.
The Bearcats won 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-21) to advance to Friday's CUNYAC Championship against Hunter College. First serve at the Hunter Sportsplex is set for 6:00 p.m.
In the first set, they had a 4-2 lead early on and extended it to as much as 11 (19-8). Argjend Osmanaj helped them get a set point with a kill to put the Bearcats up 24-12. They won the set 25-12.
In the second set, the squad took a 6-2 lead. Then the Bloodhounds came back 8-7, but no problem for the Bearcats as they went on a 3-0 run to regain their advantage. They won the set 25-19.
In the last set of the evening, the Bearcats trailed 4-1 early, but they came back to tie. They took the lead at 7-6 and continued by going on a 12-5 run.
John Jay cut the lead to as close as three points (24-21) late, but Osmanaj got the kill, and with that, the Bearcats won the match and advanced to the CUNYAC Championship.
