Christopher Petrillo Smacks Three Home Runs, Bearcats Beat St. Joseph's Brooklyn (19-5)

Christopher Petrillo smacked three home runs, and the Bearcats totaled 19 runs to defeat St Joseph's University of Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon at Bronx Community College's Ohio Field.

The two teams exchanged runs in the first inning for a 2-2 tie, but the Bearcats blew the game wide open with the 11 runs in the second inning en route to the home victory on a sunny and warm afternoon (80 degrees).

Petrillo smacked three solo homers and joined Roy Longarzo and Peter Marino with four runs each.

Troy Vigilis gets his second win, going four innings, allowing only two hits, two earned runs, two walks, and striking out four.

The Bearcats reached base today with 12 walks and five hit by pitches.

St Joseph's only totaled four hits but received homers from three players as the ball flew out of Ohio Field quickly today.

The Bearcats have scored 10 or more runs in four of their last five games as the season heads into the final stretch.

Next up on Friday will be a noon CUNYAC home doubleheader against CCNY. (CUNYAC STANDINGS)
