Women's Tennis Drop Match to St. Joseph’s University (LI), 5–2

The Baruch College women's tennis team dropped a 5–2 non-conference decision to St. Joseph's University of Long Island on Thursday afternoon in Patchogue, New York.

The Bearcats fell behind early, losing all three doubles matches to trail 1–0 heading into singles play.

Despite the early deficit, Aishika Yadav delivered a strong performance at first singles, winning her match convincingly, 6–0, 6–2. Margaret Kensinger also secured a point for Baruch at sixth singles with a 6–2, 6–0 victory.

However, the host Golden Eagles claimed wins at second, third, fourth, and fifth singles to seal the overall team victory.

Baruch will return to action on Saturday for their home opener against new CUNYAC associate member Albertus Magnus College. The match is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the Queens College tennis courts in Flushing, New York.

  • 1 point is awarded for winning the best of three in the doubles segment.
  • 6 points are awarded for the singles matches (1 point per match).
  • A team must win 4 out of 7 points to win the dual match.
