Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | Mandeep Karir

Women's Volleyball Downs Lehman 3-0 (25-11, 25-9, 25-17)

The women's volleyball team played in a CUNYAC conference match against the Lehman College Lightning at home in the ARC Arena and won in three sets (25-11, 25-9, 25-17) on Thursday night. 

The Bearcats scored the first point of the evening on a kill by Alicia Graves, assisted by Karen Pozo Castro. The squad went on to score 15 consecutive points in that first set, which helped guide them to the first set victory.

The squad started the second set trading off points with the Lightning, but the Bearcats took control by going on an 18-7 scoring run to win the set while holding their opponents to single-digits at 25-9.

The third set featured a quick start for the Bearcats, who had a six-point advantage early on (10-4). The team recorded three consecutive kills as their opponents were not far behind, keeping within just a couple of possessions.

The team saw no obstacles, putting away the third and final set on a 9-5 scoring output to record the sweep.

The Bearcats will continue their home-stand against Centenary University (New Jersey) on Tuesday, September 30, at 6:00 p.m.
