The men's volleyball team earned a decisive three‑set victory over SUNY Purchase (25–20, 25–14, 25–16) on Tuesday night inside the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats were efficient and dominant offensively, posting 35 kills on a .357 hitting percentage, while holding the Panthers to 25 kills on .155 hitting.

The opening set was tightly contested, locked at 17–17, before the Bearcats surged ahead by winning eight of the final 11 points. The closing run featured two kills from Evan Kang and back‑to‑back aces from reigning CUNYAC Rookie of the Week Benjamin Nirenstein, sealing the 25–20 win.

From there, the Bearcats controlled the match. Big early leads in both the second and third sets allowed the Bearcats to close out the sweep comfortably, powered by a strong blocking effort that totaled 18 block assists.

Nirenstein continued his standout rookie campaign, leading the attack with nine kills (.615) and four aces. Fellow rookie Lucas Mariarz delivered a career‑best performance with eight kills, while Ari Osmanaj orchestrated the offense with 24 assists and added a team-high tonight with eight digs. Rookie Michael Terolli provided a spark defensively, finishing with seven digs. SUNY Purchase was led by Luca Valeriano, who recorded six kills.

The Bearcats return to action on Thursday for a CUNYAC home matchup against John Jay College of Criminal Justice, scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
