The Bearcats opened their Spring season in commanding fashion on Friday afternoon, rolling to a 6–1 victory over Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. The win marks the program's first triumph in six all‑time meetings against the Rangers from the Landmark Conference.
The afternoon began with a surge of momentum in doubles play, where the Bearcats wasted no time asserting themselves. At the top flight, Juan Mendoza and Philipp Roeder delivered a 6–1 victory.
On the second court, Ryan Huang and Sam Park held firm in the key moments, earning a composed 6–4 win. Moments later, Joshua Bey and Anlact Huynh matched that score on court three, closing out another 6–4 decision to complete Baruch's sweep and hand the Bearcats the all‑important doubles point.
With a 1–0 lead in their pocket, Baruch carried the energy straight into singles play. The team's depth shined as they claimed five of six matches. Juan Paredes delivered one of the day's most strongest outings, overpowering his opponent at fourth singles for a 6–0, 6–2 win.
Rookie Joshua Bey capped off an outstanding collegiate road debut by completing a perfect sweep—paired with his doubles victory, he rolled through singles 6–0, 6–0, never allowing his opponent to find rhythm.
The Bearcats now turn their attention to a quick turnaround, with a 11:30 a.m. (updated time) Sunday home opener against Purchase College. The match will be played at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.
