Freshman middle blocker Lauren Hayden was named the Baruch Athlete of the Month for October 2009.

During the month of October, Lauren totaled 150 kills and helped lead the Bearcats to a first place finish in the CUNY Athletic Conference regular season standings.

** 10 kills and 5 blocks in a five set win over NYU-Poly (10/8)

** 15 kills (.429 hitting percentage) in a multi-match win over Lehman (10/12).

** 10 kills (no hitting errors) in a tough four-set loss to Elmira (10/17).

** Named the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week on October 20.

** 11 kills in a road win over U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (10/24).

** 5 kills, 2 aces and 3 blocks (against CCNY’s big hitters) during the big 3-0 sweep of CCNY that clinched CUNYAC first place (10/27).
