Senior Pablo Oliveira has been voted the Baruch Athlete of the Month for March 2011.

Oliveira led the Bearcats to a CUNYAC Tournament Championship and a #3 seed in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) Tournament.

It is the second time he has been named the Baruch Athlete of the Month. He was previously honored in February 2010.

The monthly award is voted by the athletic department staff. For a complete list of Oliveira’s highlights, please read below.

*Notched 26 kills, 13 digs and eight total blocks in a road win versus rival Hunter (3/1).

*Tallied 19 kills and eight digs in a tough battle versus #5 NYU (3/7).

*Notched 18 kills versus #1 Springfield (3/10). Followed that game with 20 kills, six digs with a .415 hitting percentage in a win at #15 SUNY-New Paltz (3/17).

*Notched 19 kills, 10 digs, and four total blocks in a win over Endicott (3/19).

*Totaled career-high 40 kills and added 12 digs in a five-set thrilling victory over #12 Emmanuel (3/19).

*Finished the month with 21 kills and 12 digs versus #14 Vassar (3/30).

*During the month of March, Pablo was twice named CUNYAC Player of the Week. He helped his team to win their third consecutive CUNYAC  Tournament Title.

*For his efforts throughout the season and the postseason, Pablo was named a Division III AVCA First Team All-American for the second consecutive YEAR.

*He finished March with 211 kills, 93 digs, 29 total blocks and a .316 hitting percentage.
