Women’s volleyball player Lauren Hayden has been voted the Baruch Athlete of the Month for October 2011.

The honor marks the second time she has won after previously being honored in October 2009.

The monthly award is voted on by the athletic department staff.

Hayden finished the month of October in torrid fashion by hitting .359, with 113 kills and 22 total blocks. She was also honored once during the month as the CUNYAC Player of the Week.

** Picked up eight kills versus Richard Stockton (10/1) at the Stevens Invitational.

** Notched eight kills with a .375 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep at NYU-Poly (10/11).

** Tallied 10 kills and three total blocks versus Union (10/28) at the Skidmore Invitational.

** In her next match at the Skidmore Invitational, she went for a month-high 14 kills and added three blocks in a tough four-set loss to regional power SUNY-New Paltz (10/28).

** Finished the weekend at Skidmore with 11 kills and three total blocks in an easy win over SUNY-Plattsburgh (10/29).
