Junior men's volleyball player Steve Coniglio has been named the Baruch Athlete of the Month for April/May 2013.
Due to the limited amount of athletic contests in May, the honor is combined for April and May.
Coniglio had a memorable spring with a large number of significant awards.
*For the second straight year, he won the NCAA Elite 89 Academic Award with the highest GPA (3.92) for the Div. III Men's Volleyball Championship in Rochester, New York.
*Named the CUNYAC Most Valuable Player (League MVP) and Scholar Athlete of the Month (April).
*For the first time, he was named an NCAA/A.V.C.A. Division III Second Team All-American.
*Member of volleyball team that won their fifth straight CUNYAC Championship by defeating York College.
*In the NCAA Tournament, he totaled nine kills, hitting .692, to sweep the Stevens Institute of Technology in the Quarterfinal Round.
*In the Final Four against #1 Springfield, he totaled 10 kills, in a tough five-set (15-13) loss.
*In a regular season home match on April 6, he tallied 15 kills, hitting .429, to defeat the Stevens Institute of Technology on Senior Day in the ARC Arena.
