Maria Epp Caltabiano (Women's Basketball, 1987-1991)
From 1987-1991, Maria was one of the region’s top basketball players and ended her brilliant playing career with 1,021 points, 610 rebounds and 75 blocked shots. She was named the Team’s Rookie of the Year during the 1987-88 season, and was later named Team MVP following the 1990-91 season. In addition, her efforts were recognized by conference coaches when she was voted to the CUNYAC All-Tournament Team in 1991. A hard worker and a true team player with a picture perfect jump shot, Maria enters the Hall of Fame for a distinguished career in women’s basketball.
Bobby Francis (Men's Soccer, 1975-1976)
Bobby Francis was both a player (1975-76) and coach (2001-03) for the men’s soccer team. As a starting forward, his quick speed and versatility played a significant part in leading the team in 1976 to a school record 9-3-1, which included a victory against nationally-ranked Adelphi University. During his two-year playing career, he tallied 20 goals and received New York All-State Honors. As a coach, he recruited talented student-athletes and played a competitive schedule.
Stanley Barbot (Men's Volleyball & Soccer, 1982-1986)
From 1982-1986, Stanley Barbot was the pre-eminent athlete at Baruch College. As a four-year soccer and volleyball player, Stanley’s athleticism and passion were in full display. In volleyball as the team setter, Stanley led Baruch to a CUNYAC championship in 1985, as well as being twice named All-Conference. As a truly dominant midfield player in soccer during his era, Stanley was again named All-Conference twice. His power and speed separated him from his opponents, and made it an event to watch him play. Stanley was team captain for both squads, and in 1985, he was named Male Athlete of the Year for Baruch College.
Jimmy Resvanis (Men's Basketball, 1990-1994)
From 1990-1994, Jimmy set the standard for all future point guards with his exceptional play-making ability. A true extension of the coach, Jimmy helped guide the Statesmen to 2 ECAC bids and 1 CUNYAC Final appearance. His fearless style of play, coupled with uncanny court sense and lightning quickness, made the “Blurh” an unstoppable force. A First Team CUNYAC All-Star, 3-year captain and 4-year starter, Jimmy finished his career with 1,022 points and holds the all-time assist record with 602.
