Men's Soccer Loses Heartbreaker to John Jay in Overtime (3-2)

A goal by Hiromi Karahashi in the second overtime lifted the Bloodhounds of John Jay College to a 3-2 conference victory on Saturday afternoon at the Met Oval in Queens.

With the loss, the Bearcats' six match winning streak comes to an end as they fall to 7-3-3 overall and 5-2 in CUNYAC, while John Jay improves to 4-12 and 2-5 in the conference standings.

The Bloodhounds started the scoring on an own goal by the Baruch defense at 31:41 of the opening half.

The Bearcats quickly fought back seven minutes later on a tying goal by freshman Boris Lipsman and took a lead at 56:08 of the second half on a penalty kick strike by Nick Shnayderman.

John Jay responded by tying the conference affair with Christopher Tapia scoring
at 62:49.

The Bearcats led the in shot category (18-8) all afternoon, including a 10-2 advantage in the second half, but could not find the third and winning goal against the Bloodhounds.

The men's soccer team will look to shake off the tough loss on Monday with a 4:30 pm non-conference road match against Farmingdale State University from the Skyline Conference.
