The women’s basketball team placed five players in double-figure scoring to record a 94-73 conference victory on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

With the victory, fifth-year Head Coach Machli Joseph recorded the 100th win of his young career, as the Bearcats stay perfect in conference (7-0) and improve to 13-5 overall. The Bridges fall to 6-2 in conference and 13-5 overall.

Brooklyn started by building a 14-7 lead, but the Bearcats regrouped to take a 51-28 lead into the locker room at halftime by scoring 44 of the final 58 points of the opening half. That run was enough of a big lead the rest of the way to clinch the victory.

Lorin Clarke led the Bearcats with a career-high 21 points, while Karlee Whipple scored 17 points and three steals.

Kalea Davis recorded her eighth consecutive double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. As a result, Davis is now tied for sixth all-time in consecutive double-doubles (8) in Division III women’s basketball. She has 15 total double-doubles this season.

Monique Salmon scored 13 points and dished out nine assists to continue to lead NCAA Div. III with 8.7 assists per game. Shadae Rice finished with 12 points off the bench.

The Bridges also placed five players in double-figures with Christina Belfiore leading the way with 18 points. Priscilla Ramirez had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Baruch women’s basketball team will hit the road next Wednesday, January 28, for a 5:00 pm conference game at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
