BOX SCORE

The Bearcats and the Bridges of Brooklyn College played a high-scoring 3-3 draw on Saturday afternoon at the College of Staten Island soccer complex in Staten Island, New York.

The CUNYAC match started in dramatic fashion with all six goals occurring in the first 35 minutes of the opening half.

The match stayed scoreless the remainder of regulation and the two overtime periods to give the visiting Bearcats (3-3-3, 3-0-2 11pts CUNYAC) their second consecutive draw in conference play.

Vincent Cruz (eight total shots) led the offensive effort for Baruch by scoring two goals for the second time this season in a conference match.

He scored the first goal unassisted at the 8:21 mark, but the home team Bridges (3-5-2, 1-2-2 5 pts CUNYAC) battled back with two goals for a 2-1 advantage after 18 minutes of play.

Cruz tied the match four minutes later on another assisted goal and Freddy Carrasco-Dance (seven total shots) gave the team a brief lead at 24:17 on an assist by Juan Vasconez.

Brooklyn tied the match at 34:18 on a goal by Muhammad Mutawakkil and that would turn out to be the eventual final score on a rainy afternoon in Staten Island.

Overall, Baruch out-shot Brooklyn, 31-13, and forced Brooklyn goalkeeper Azad Kafarov into recording 15 saves.

Nelson DiBastiano was also busy collecting seven total saves to help keep Baruch alive all afternoon.
