Updated Box Score

The baseball team began their spring schedule with a 9-1 road victory in a season-opening non-conference game that ended late Wednesday night at Taft High School in the Bronx.

Daniel Brudie, a sophomore from St. Francis Prep, recorded the victory with five innings pitched, seven strikeouts and one earned run allowed.

He received plenty of support with the Bearcats opening the top half of the first inning with two runs. Freshman Thomas Daly had the big hit with an RBI triple.

Baruch scored a run in each of the third and fourth innings, and added to the lead again in the seventh with a solo home run by senior Jorge Rosado. They finished the victory with four runs in the ninth inning to cap off the 11-hit attack in the Bronx.

Yeshiva, a member of the Skyline Conference, scored their only run during the sixth inning. The Maccabees were limited to seven total hits this evening.

Baruch and Yeshiva will conclude their two game series on Thursday night with another 7:45 pm contest at Taft High School in the Bronx.
