The women’s volleyball team swept SUNY-Purchase in a non-conference match on Thursday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats (4-2) jumped out early in the first set, 22-5, and cruised to the opening set 25-12 win. They won again 25-14 and 25-13 to stretch their win streak to four matches.

Christina Pierre recorded a match-high nine kills, while Melinda Santiago led the offensive attack with 26 assists and nine digs. Mayra Estepan notched five aces.

Taylor Edelmann led the Panthers (0-5) from the Skyline Conference with five kills and seven digs.

The women’s volleyball team will begin their conference schedule on Saturday at the CUNYAC Multi-Match Day hosted by York College in Jamaica, New York.

The Bearcats will play rival Hunter (9:00 am) and York (11:00 am) in the morning matches of the day.
