Women's Volleyball Defeats CSI to Stretch Win Streak to Four

The women’s volleyball team won their fourth consecutive match by defeating the College of Staten Island in four sets (25-9, 21-25, 25-17, 25-21) in a CUNY Athletic Conference match Tuesday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats started by dominating the opening set by the score of 25-9, but the visiting Dolphins jumped out in the second set with scores of 6-1, 13-10, and 22-18 to eventually post the 25-21 victory to tie the match.

Baruch fought back to win the last two sets by the scores of 25-17 and 25-21 to raise their record to 8-3 overall and 3-1 in CUNYAC play. The Dolphins drop to 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the CUNYAC.

Martina Micko led the Bearcats this evening with 11 kills, while Melinda Santiago dished out 36 assists. Posey Wilson finished with 23 total digs. 

Joanna Tepedino led the way for Staten Island with 12 kills and 10 digs.

The women’s volleyball team will return to action on Saturday by competing in the Ramapo College Tri-Match in Mahwah, New Jersey.

The Bearcats will play matches against Simmons College of Boston (10:00 am), the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (1:00 pm), and the tri-match hosts Ramapo College (3:00 pm).
