BOX SCORE

Brian Wright scored the only goal at the 19:07 mark of the first half to give the visiting Bearcats a 1-0 victory against the City College of New York in a CUNYAC match played Wednesday afternoon at field #51 on Randall’s Island.

The Bearcats (2-3-1, 2-0-0 CUNYAC) out-shot the Beavers (1-6-1, 1-1-1 CUNYAC) by a close 20-19 margin, while Nelson DiBastiano (seven saves) and Michael Murphy (one save) combined to record the shutout to help Baruch stay undefeated in early season conference play.

Sophomore captain Jacob Cohen recorded the assist with a cross to Wright for the game-winning goal.

In other team news, sophomore Vincent Cruz was named the CUNYAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week for his performance on September 16 against rival Hunter College. Cruz scored two of the team's four goals in the convincing 4-0 road win to open the CUNYAC schedule.

The men’s soccer team will play their first home match of the season on Saturday, September 26, with a Noon time kick off against Lehman College at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.

SCHEDULING UPDATE: Please note that the home match against John Jay for Saturday, October 17, will now start at 1:00 pm, instead of Noon. Please plan accordingly.
