Baruch v Emmanuel BOX SCORE

The men’s volleyball team opened their 2010 schedule by defeating Endicott and Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon at the Emmanuel Tri-Match in Boston, Massachusetts.

The visiting Bearcats started the day by defeating Endicott in four sets by the scores of 31-29, 30-28, 31-33, and 31-29.

Pablo Oliveira had a big match with 29 kills (.377), 11 digs and six service aces. Ratmir Gorelik notched 17 kills (.387) and 13 digs. Radu Wyrwas led the offensive attack with 54 assists.

In the second match against Emmanuel, the Bearcats worked hard to earn a tough five-set come back victory with scores of 31-33, 30-27, 26-30, 30-27, and 15-11.
 
Oliviera led the Bearcats again with 25 kills (.250), 11 digs and three service aces. Eryk Kowalski had a solid match with 15 kills. Wyrwas was busy again in the attack with 51 assists, while Jonathan Tuwaidan collected 20 digs on the defensive end.

The men’s volleyball team will continue their New England trip tomorrow, Sunday, January 17, when they travel to Nashua, New Hampshire for the Rivier Tri-Match.

The Bearcats will play against Medaille (Noon) and the hosts Rivier (2:00 pm).
