BOX SCORE

The women's basketball team lost a 65-57 CUNYAC contest to Lehman College on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx.

The two teams struggled shooting only 34 percent each, but the Lightning received 41 points from their bench on Senior Day to end Baruch’s 32-game CUNYAC (tournament & regular season) winning streak.

Kalea Davis (6-9 fg) had a big game for the Bearcats with 17 points and 19 rebounds. In addition, she became the third player in women’s team history to record over 1,000 career rebounds. She currently has a total of 1,010.

Megan Bouwens (`17 points, 14 rebounds) also recorded another double-double, while Anika Sierk rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points, five rebounds and four assists in 38 minutes of action.

With the loss, the Bearcats attempt at a second straight year of finishing the CUNYAC regular season undefeated comes to an end. They finish 12-1 in CUNYAC and 20-5 overall on the regular season schedule that ended today.

Despite the loss, the Bearcats have already clinched the #1 seed in the CUNYAC Tournament and will host #8 seed Medgar Evers at home in a quarterfinal playoff on Sunday, February 21. The exact time is not yet available.

Leslie Mencia led Lehman (10-14, 8-4 CUNYAC) with a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds. Lehman will finish their regular season schedule on Monday afternoon at York College with a make up game from last week’s snow storm.
